An ounce of prevention...
The poison ivy is almost as healthy as the garlic mustard this year! Please come prepared by reviewing the precautions on this website.
Important Safety Notice
Please do not leave any bags of Garlic mustard within view of the horses that pass on the horse trails. The sight of the bags spooks the horses, causing a danger to the riders. It is best to leave the bags on the paved trails or parking lot. Also, please call the park office at 248-349-8390 to notify them of where you have left bags so they can come pick them up. Thanks!

Mapping the infestations
If you see garlic mustard at the park, please notify us of the location, by emailing greensource@comcast.net, so we can add it to our monitoring map. Send GPS coordinates, or simply the number/letter coordinates using this map of the park.
Bag Count
This year we are keeping track of the number of bags of Garlic mustard pulled from the park. Please contact the Maybury Park Supervisor Andrew Cole at 248-349-8390 or ColeA3@michigan.gov, to let him know the number of bags you pulled and from which section of the park you pulled them. Also, if you have left bags along the paved trail, park staff can pick them up for you if you notify them.

Intrepid group of five adults and two children kicked the GM pulling season off. We enjoyed seeing many wildflowers in bloom and have the satisfaction of knowing we are protecting their environment from this invasive. One and one half hours pulling time, 40 pound bag. Submitted by George McCarthy.
